EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY

What is Exercise Physiology?

Exercise Physiology is a specialised allied health profession focused on using exercise as medicine to prevent, manage, and treat a wide range of health conditions. Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are university-qualified professionals who design and deliver safe, evidence-based exercise programs tailored to each person’s individual needs, abilities, and goals.

These programs can help:

  • Improve mobility, strength, and balance

  • Support recovery after injury or surgery

  • Manage chronic health conditions (such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, and osteoporosis)

  • Enhance physical function and independence at any stage of life

  • Boost overall health, fitness, and wellbeing

Exercise physiology is not just about physical fitness — it’s about improving quality of life through movement, education, and support.
