While both emphasise body and mind connection, Pilates focuses on core strengthening and total body alignment, whereas yoga often emphasises flexibility and relaxation.

What do I need to bring to my Pilates session?

For your Pilates session, it's typically recommended to bring:

  • Comfortable Clothing: Wear fitted, stretchable clothes that allow freedom of movement without being too restrictive. Avoid baggy clothing where possible as as it may interfere with certain exercises.

  • A Towel: A towel is required for our Pilates sessions.

  • Socks: We require you to wear socks for class. It is recommended to use non slip socks and these can be purchased at the clinic before your session if you do not have a pair.

  • Any Relevant Medical Information: If you have specific medical conditions or concerns, bring any necessary information or equipment (like a knee brace or orthotic inserts).

  • Private Health Fund Documentation: If you're hoping to claim your sessions under private health, please be aware that it's a health fund requirement to have an initial session with a physiotherapist prior to your first class. This initial session with our physiotherapists enables us to establish your goals and set a direction for your Pilates sessions.

  • An Open Mind: Every Pilates session offers a new opportunity to learn, grow, and challenge your body.
