Pregnancy is such a special time when your body is going through all sorts of changes. Not to mention the hormones and emotions you are experiencing during this time! To help you get a little relief and continue attempting to live a healthy, pain free life we have created a little pack of our favourite ways to treat pregnant ladies.
The Pregnancy Pack includes:
Initial Pilates Consultation with a Physiotherapist
A comprehensive examination including an ultrasound of the pelvic floor, enabling us to see the extent to which each individual’s pelvic floor is activating (or not activating!). A personalised program can then be developed based on the findings along with your personal history and goals.
1 x One Hour Pilates Class (run by Physiotherapist) –
Small groups of 4-5 where each person receives their own program based on their needs, goals and injuries.
Pilates has many benefits, some of which include:
Improve fitness and strength which aids delivery and beyond
Build core strength to reduce backache
Help with continence & pelvic floor dysfunctions
Great for the mind
Improves breathing technique and lung capacity
Highly trained, experienced instructors
1 x One Hour Pregnancy Massage–
Pregnancy or Prenatal massage can help with:
Sciatica, low back pain, headaches, insomnia, swollen extremities, pelvic misalignment, rib pain and breast tenderness.
Studies have shown that just 20 minutes of pregnancy massage twice a week for five weeks can:
Reduce anxiety and encourage relaxation, improve blood and lymph circulation, reduce swelling and improve your baby’s oxygen supply, help relieve pressure/stress on the pelvis, low back, knees and ankles.
In addition to helping women with a healthy and relaxing pregnancy, massage can also help in the post era of pregnancy, being particularly beneficial to regaining an active lifestyle.
1 x Pregnancy Relaxation Class – 1 hour relaxation and meditation class. In this class you will learn beautiful relaxation techniques to use during your labour to help you prepare for a calm and relaxed birth.
